Threatened by rapid erosion as a result of global warming, the Inupiaq Eskimo community of Shishmaref, Alaska will be forced to relocate their island village to the mainland within ten years. The traditional use of wild, natural resources called subsistence living still practiced by the Inupiat people, both defines and sustains their culture despite the imminent loss of their homeland.
